What are the Fundamental Sessions?

These are three (3) one-on-one sessions where each client is taught the nine fundamental movements of CrossFit and must be completed before a client can participate in the group classes. Here you will learn the Deadlift, Sumo Deadlift High-Pull, Clean, Squat, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Press, Push Press, and Push Jerk.

Why complete the Fundamental Sessions?

These sessions provide the trainer the opportunity to accurately assess each person’s strengths and weaknesses in a one-on-one environment. Your safety is paramount and it is during these initial sessions when we take the time to ensure you are working safely. Form and consistency come first, then intensity.

These sessions are not just for the beginning or intermediate athlete. These sessions have also proved valuable to those who already have a strong foundation in exercise. Those with more advanced abilities have used these sessions to overcome hurdles, refine movements, and have a trained eye examine the lifts.

This time spent allows the client to be introduced to movements they might not have done before. (I.e. Overhead squat, Clean, Push Jerk) Moreover, it also allows the client to become more familiar with the CrossFit standards to movements they may already be using in their current program (I.e. Squat, Shoulder Press) Having a trainer critique your form and offer corrections has resulted in a more efficient movement and therefore a stronger athlete.
